Oh Christmas Tree!

We got our Christmas Tree! I was so excited because this is our first "big tree." All of our other trees, were pretty small. This will be our first Christmas in our new house and I am grateful for higher ceilings and more space!

A few days before Thanksgiving Rachelle, Scott, baby Tenley and Bethany came to visit us. It was so fun to see them. Tenley is soooo cute, she has chubby cheeks (perfect for smooching) and smiles a lot. Madi came over one night while they were here and she loved Tenley. She really liked her chubby cheeks. While she was playing with her she came up to me and whispered in my ear "um Ashley do you think if we lay her down on her back that her cheeks will go back like this?" Then she put her hands on her own cheeks and pulled them back towards her ears! It was so funny! It was nice to get to see Beth too. She just got home from her mission and we were glad to get a chance to see her and hear her fun missionary stories! We went out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant, and I had to remind Scott to order a Bean Burro, not a Bean Burrito! (ha ha, long story!) Later Camille and Rob came over to our house, along with Trevor, Jana, Landon and Dalin. We played the Wii, and Farkle. (our favorite dice game) The next morning we went out and shot clay pigeons, and then went to eat at R&R. It was so fun to see you guys, thanks for coming!! Luv Ya!

A better late than never, TWILIGHT freak!!

Ok so I know that this is a little late, and that most everyone who liked the Twilight books has seen the movie and has their own thoughts on it, but I have been busy with my last few weeks of nursing school and didn't have time to comment before, so here are my thoughts on the movie! (better late than never!) I LOVED it!!!!! The day that Twilight opened I had to work and I was really worried that I wouldn't get in line early enough, (that is what happened to me when LOTR came out) So my good Hubby Chad went and got in line for me! It was so funny because when I finally got there Chad was standing with about four other guys who were saving spots for their girlfriends or wives! We had to stand in line for a few hours, but it was fun because we had our friends there and my sister Meghan and her boyfriend too. We ate pizza and drank soda, and talked to all the other crazy twilight fans! I thought that the movie was Awesome, and I think that it followed the book well. I think that I liked it more because I didn't have really high expectations of it. I thought that all of the characters were cast really well, and I thought that the baseball scene was cool! Of course there were a few cheesy parts but I didn't think that they were nearly as cheesy the second time I saw it! Ha Ha! Chad liked it ok, but he won't be seeing it again. Thanks babe for going with me and for standing in line, I had a blast! Funny story, Meghan and I went to see the movie again and right during one of the lovey scenes a girl behind us started throwing up into her popcorn bag!! I felt really bad for her but it was funny timing. I think she was embarrassed because she sat there for a really long time after she was done throwing up, just holding her popcorn bag on her lap. I would have been running for the door!

Madi and Chad cleaned and rearranged the garage the other day so we can finally park our cars in it!!

Halloween Fun!

Madi loves Ariel, and that is who she wanted to be for Halloween. We found this Ariel tail that I wore one year when I was little, it had a little bra that went with it, but we looked through all of the dress up boxes and could not find it. So I had to improvise. I found a little girl sports bra at wal-mart, some shiny material and sequends, and it didn't turn out too bad! When we put it on Madi said "Um, Ashley this makes me look like I have....B's" at first I didn't know what she was talking about so I asked "What are B's?" She looked at me like 'Duh' and pointed to her chest! He He it was so funny!


At school Madi got to have a little parade in her Halloween costume with her classmates then they got a party. She got tons of candy at the school carnival and going trick or treating. It was so fun!

Weezer!!!

This last weekend we went to a Weezer concert! It was a blast! They came to our State Fair. My Aunt Wanell works at the Arizona Coliseum, which is where the fair is held, and she got us awesome concert tickets (3rd row seats!), and tons of ride passes! It was really fun. Thanks again Aunt Wanell, Love Ya! I am going to change all of my music to Weezer for a while just for anyone who doesn't know who they are. I had heard alot of their songs before, but I didn't really listen to them that much. Now I really like them and listen to them all the time! Ha Ha. I have had people tell me thats usually how it is after concerts!


Angels and Airwaves opened for Weezer, they were so loud, and the lead singer used the "F" word alot, but they sounded pretty good.

We paid a dollar to see this cow/bull, the sign said it was the world's biggest! It was really big, maybe not worth a dollar big, but still. ha ha.

Fun weekend with Mom!

I hung out with my mom this weekend and we had a blast! We went out to eat, watched movies, went for jogs(so nice:-) and we planted some flowers for the front porch! Thanks mom, it was tons of fun! Love you! XOXOXOXO



We went to visit Aunt Pam at the beauty shop. Aunt Pam was painting Madi's nails, and mom was holding her nose and spinning in the chair, which apparently is not allowed. Aunt Pam said "Sheryl, why are you spinning in that chair? You don't spin in these chairs, you only get your hair cut in them!" Then mom said "well, why do they spin then?" Ha Ha! maybe you had to be there, but I thought it was so funny!


This is a picture of mom and madi on the front porch. Chad brought home the old bench that used to sit out in front of R&R, because they are getting a new one. Well it is kinda old and rickety but it looks so good on the porch and matches the color of the front door. Then my mom got me some flowers to put next to it, and it looks great. I love it!

Crazy Life!

Well I finally made some posts! It has been a month since my last one!! Our lives have been crazy this past month, I started my last semester of nursing school and it just works out that all of my clinicals for the whole semester are crammed into 1 month! Ahhhhhh! And I am still working 1 day a week at the hospital! But by mid October things should slow down. Chad started his first semester of the NAU business program, so he has been super busy with school, studying and work too. But our life is great, and we still find time to do fun things!)

Taffy!

We made home made taffy at G&G Skinner's house for family home evening the other night. It is usually a Christmas tradition so it was fun to change things up a bit! Pulln' taffy is a fun memory for me, Grandpa always pulled it because it was soooo hot!(He would get blister on his hands!) All of the grand kids got different jobs, like buttering the pans, scoring the taffy, breaking the taffy, wrapping the taffy and EATING the taffy!! Grandpa would tell us stories about making taffy when he was a little boy! Well grandpa still helps but he lets some of the other men pull the taffy now that he is sorta retired from it! He He!

LOTR Monopoly!

It finally came!! I love the Lord of the Rings Monopoly game! The first time we played it was at Heather and Zach's house one of the times we went to visit. Chad and I both like the movies, and the game is fun because everything about it relates to the movies (like characters and properties, ect.) A great twist of the game is that it only takes about 30-45mins to play. Its the perfect amount of time! So if you like board games and LOTR, this game is a must have! Sadly it was sort of a limited edition thing and they don't make them any more. But Chad found one on EBay that was in great condition and for a good price, so we bought it! I kept checking the mail everyday to see if it had come, and it took almost 3 weeks to get here!! But finally it came!

Thatcher Eagles # 1!!

Madi is in the first grade now and she loves it! This year the booster club sold 'Eagle Shirts" that have a Batman theme. (Due to the new Batman movie, and maybe the homecoming theme, I'm not sure yet.) N-E way she likes wearing her shirt to the High School football games, and even to the EAC football games, where she "Got to Hug the Gila Monster! Yeah!" (He is the College's mascot. But Madi informed me that it was a girl in the costume!) She thought it was quite exciting!



Madi, Emma, and Chad. Madi and her cousin Emma are great friends, and they wanted to be matching! Madi and Chad like to have a constant debate about who is the #1 team. The St. David Tigers(Chad's High School) or The Thatcher Eagles! Madi says they can "both be #1" Ha Ha!

Elvis Presley!

I just wanted to do a post in tribute to Elvis! For those who don't know I am a huge Elvis fan, I have been since I was little. I can remember when I was about ten years old I was walking through the store with my dad, we were looking at Elvis CDs and talking about him, then my dad said "Ash you do know that Elvis is dead don't you?" I couldn't believe it! I asked him "When did he die?...Yesterday??" I was so sad to find out that Elvis had actually died August 16th 1977, eight years before I was born. So today is the 17th of August and I meant to post this yesterday but oh well!

Happy Anniversary!

Chad and I have been married now for three years!! Crazy Huh?! Our Anniversary was on August 13th, time has just flown by! It has been such a fun adventure and I can't wait for the rest of forever! Love you!

Our Idaho Vacation!

Ok There are a lot of pictures and posts about this trip, hope no one gets borred, but we had a blast so I had to document! (haha) We went to Idaho for our summer vacation this year. I have lots of extended family and Chad has three sisters that live there now, so it was a no brainer about our vacation destination:)

We got to Uncle Matt and Aunt Tana's Thursday afternoon. We picked up my cousin Candice in Salt Lake. The drive was a little squished but Candice thought of fun games for us to play on the drive, so it went fast.

Chad, Matt, Dad and Meg made a four mile hike into a remote mountain lake to do some serious fishing. They were all pretty sore the next day, but chad said the country was beautiful!

Sadly this was the end of the line for our camera, it got droped in the water and so as you will see many of the pictures after these are blurry. But I snagged a lot of pictures from family members for the blog. Thanks guys!
