Ever since Chad and I have been married, (almost 3 years) we have lived in a tiny, very old house. It was so hot in the summer and so cold in the winter, the walls were cracked, the roof leaked and we saw a lot of creepy crawlies. But I loved our little home. It is a family owned home and my aunt and uncle let us live there for free! (Thanks Uncle Ron!) It was an awesome deal and we got to save some money. We will always have great memories of that house.
This is one of our funny memories of our house.
A few months after chad and I had been married the county fair came to town, and we decided to go out there for the afternoon, well we had only been there about 20min and it started to pour! It was an Arizona monsoon and we were soaked in about 3 seconds! Well I am not much of a ride goer anyway, so we decided just to head for home. When we go there we were laughing and joking about our Fair experience and just tring to get inside were it was dry.....or so we thought. As soon as I shut the front door, I noticed a strange sound coming from the kitchen, it sounded like someone had left the shower on. We ran into the kitchen and there, pouring down from the ceiling in three different spots, was water. Not just drips of water, but sheets, like a waterfall. We were shocked for a few seconds before we started scrambling to pull out all of our new bowls, tuperware, and pots, all of our beautiful wedding presents, to catch the brown water! To make matters worse we couldn't just get towels or a mop to dry up the floor because our whole house was carpet, even in the kitchen and bathroom! Well after about an hour, the rain stoped , and we were soaked about as much as our kitchen was. We kept emptying out the pots and bowls, and we had towels and were trying to sop up the water out of the carpet. It felt like we were fighting a loosing battle, and I was about in tears. I love Chad so much, he always has a way of making me feel better even in crappy situations. I will never forget what he said next, he looked at the wrecked kitchen, then he looked at me and said, "Do you want to make a cake?" It was so funny and it was a great idea, so we made a delicious chocolate cake. So just like the saying when life gives you lemons... When a storm rolls through and wreks your kitchen....make a cake!!!
There are quite a few stories like that about our little house, but I still need to write about the new one so we will just say Good bye little house, we will miss you, but not to much!!! :)
